Presidents’ Day

March 11, 2017

We did some thinking about what we would do if we were president.  Some good ideas.  One student shows an understanding of the power of a presidential veto when he writes “I would check the laws and say yes or no.”

The Microscope

February 4, 2017

We have been looking at all kinds of things under the microscope lately, and I just recently figured out a way to capture pictures of what we see.

Have a look at the latest.  It was only a tiny spot on the bottom of a leaf on our plant by the window, but what a surprise up close–

Welcome to February

February 4, 2017

We had a busy week last week in case your student didn’t fill you in on everything.  We had some quality reading time with our big buddies up on the third floor.  And the work on our musical with Mr. Matt continues.  Our IB Unit has to do with animals, habitats and which animals eat and are eaten by others.  So that’s the theme of the musical that we are creating.img_4648

In case you haven’t heard enough of the song that our class is singing for the show (Which looks like it might premiere February 24th, more on that later), you can practice at home.  I’ll email out the audio.

Ask your student about the machines that we studied in our most recent unit:

Pajama Day

November 16, 2016

We had fun today in our pajamas with our stuffed animals– we wrote about our stuffed animals, read them stories, and hugged them close when Dorothy met a witch in the book we are reading.
