Math Stations

November 13, 2017

One of our most popular math activities is Math Stations.  There is a different activity at each table, and students visit each table as a team to solve some challenges or play some games.

A Pretty Exciting Day

October 2, 2017

Well first of all we won the Attendance Trophy for last week,

and then we had a fire drill.  We were well prepared for the fire drill, though, having practiced for it a few times.

There’s news about Picture Day– it will be October 17, before lunch.  Start planning your outfits!

Peace Day

September 21, 2017

To celebrate Peace Day we read a book about Peace, wrote about what it means to us, made pinwheels and planted them in the Peirce Peace Garden.

Here is what Peace looks like:

The Second Week

September 15, 2017

As we finish up our second week, here are a few reflections.

It is always helpful to put your child’s name on everything.  They will leave sweaters and water bottles in different places around the school, but if the name and room number are on them, they come back eventually.

You are doing a great job of reviewing the folders every evening.  I hope you get some time to ask about the different creations that come home too.

We can’t take pictures of your child without the media release.  If it’s important to you to have your child in class pictures, then sign and return the form.

Thanks for the copy paper!

We have good attendance so far—keep it up!

See if your child can remember or sing any of our Kindergarten songs so far:

Oats, Peas, Beans

The Farmer in the Dell

I Wrote a Letter

The Button and the Key

Johnny Get Your Hair Cut

The Lunch Menu

Our Fabulous First Day

September 5, 2017

In case your new Kindergarten student was too overwhelmed by all of the things that we did today to remember any of them, here are some ideas to help with their recollection:

Ask about Dance class, The Farmer in the Dell, how we raise our hands if we need to use the bathroom, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, “Center Time” in the classroom and their favorite centers, our lunch tags and where we keep them, what we do with blue folders, and the delicious breakfast.  Whew!

I hope you have a chance to share the things from your special Kindergarten bags, and remember– the adventure has just begun.  This is your special class, and we will be working together as a team this year.  You are already beginning to shine!

What a Great Year.
